A bigger range than you'll find online
The shop carries far more rugs than we could ever list on a website — and they're laid out so you can actually look at them properly. Modern oriental, traditional Persian-style, contemporary geometric, plain wool textures, washable polyester for high-traffic family rooms. Sizes from runner-rug for a hallway up to 240×340cm room-size. We'll help you find what works for your space.
Bring a photo, bring a swatch, bring a measurement
Most people pick a rug by gut. But it helps if you bring something to compare against — a photo of your sofa, a paint chip from the wall, a measurement of the floor area you want to cover. We'll narrow the options down with you. If a rug isn't quite right at home, you can return or exchange it within 7 days as long as it's still in shop condition.
Wool, polypropylene, cotton, viscose — what to pick
Wool rugs are the long-term investment — beautiful, warm, naturally fire-resistant, last decades. Polypropylene is hard-wearing and stain-resistant — better for kitchens, dining rooms, kids' playrooms. Cotton rugs are flat-weave, washable, easy to live with — great for hallways and bedrooms. Viscose is the silky-feel artificial silk — gorgeous to look at and to walk on, but delicate and not suitable for high-traffic areas. We'll match the material to the room.
Sizing — the most common mistake people make
Most people buy a rug too small. The general rule: a rug under a sofa should let the front legs sit on it. A rug under a dining table should extend at least 60cm beyond the table edge so chairs stay on the rug when pulled out. A bedroom rug should be wide enough that you step onto it on both sides of the bed. Bring measurements and we'll show you the right sizes for the space.
Underlay for rugs
A rug underlay does two things: stops the rug slipping (especially important on hard floors), and adds to comfort and longevity. We sell anti-slip underlay cut to size at the till — about £15-30 depending on the rug. Recommended for any rug on laminate, vinyl, or wood. Carpets you can usually skip it.
