A wide range of carpets in our Wavertree showroom
Our shop on Picton Road carries hundreds of carpet samples — saxonies, twists, loops, patterns, plains, deep piles, low piles. You can see them, feel them, drop them on the floor and walk on them barefoot. Most of our customers find their carpet within 30 minutes once they're in the shop. Pop in any time we're open: Mon-Fri 9 to 6, Sat 9 to 4. No appointment needed, no salesperson hovering, fresh coffee on if you fancy one.
Free home measuring across Wavertree, Allerton and beyond
If your home is in L15, L18, L16, L7 or roughly a 30-minute drive of our shop, we'll come and measure for free. We bring sample swatches if you've already shortlisted, take exact measurements, check the subfloor, and give you an honest written quote on the spot. No pressure, no follow-up phone calls — you decide in your own time. Most quotes come back at less than people expect, which is the way we like it.
Local fitters who do this every day
Our fitting team has been doing carpets in Liverpool for years. They know which streets have suspended timber subfloors, which have damp problems, which have the awkward Edwardian door reveals that need extra care at the threshold. A typical room takes 1 to 3 hours. A whole house is usually a single day. We move the furniture, lift the old carpet, take the rubbish away when we leave.
Wool, polypropylene, or a sensible blend
Wool feels lovely underfoot, lasts decades, and has natural fire resistance. It costs more, and it can mark with ink or red wine if you don't catch the spill quickly. Polypropylene is hard-wearing, stain-resistant, and looks great — modern polypropylene carpets are a long way from the cheap synthetic carpets of the 80s. Wool-rich blends (typically 80/20) get you most of the wool feel at a friendlier price. We'll show you all three in the shop.
Stairs, hallways and high-traffic rooms
Stairs and hallways take more punishment than any other carpet in the house. We always recommend a tight twist or loop construction for these areas — easier to vacuum, harder to flatten, holds its appearance for years. Bedrooms can be deeper-pile because they're softer underfoot and not walked on as much. A carpet that's perfect in the lounge isn't always right for the stairs, and we'll point that out at the measure.
Underlay matters more than people think
A good underlay makes a cheap carpet feel expensive and a worn-out carpet feel like new. We always quote with a quality 10-12mm PU underlay included — it's not an optional extra. It also adds insulation, which makes a real difference in older Liverpool houses with suspended floors. If you've got specific concerns about footfall noise (flats above neighbours), we'll spec a thicker acoustic underlay.
Honest pricing — no hidden extras
Our quotes include the carpet, underlay, fitting, gripper rods, door bars, and removing the old carpet. Nothing surprise-added at the door. If a job needs an extra trip (e.g., a small repair to the subfloor before fitting), we tell you at the measure, not after. We accept card, cash, and bank transfer.
